The conglomerates are thinning the ranks. Unilever slashed an estimated 6,000 jobs during its first quarter of 2025. Coty plans to cut 700 jobs worldwide, about 5% of its total workforce, as part of broader cost-cutting efforts. Saks Global is cutting 550 workers.Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, granddaughter of L’Oréal’s founder Eugène Schueller, has retired from the group’s board after 28 years. Bettencourt Meyers has been succeeded by her older son Jean-Victor Meyers as Vice Chairman of L’Oréal's board. Téthys Invest, the Bettencourt Meyers family holding company, which is L’Oréal's largest shareholder with 34.7% of its capital, is also joining the board, represented by its CEO Alexandre Benais.Kering Beauté has appointed Nathalie Berger Duquene CEO of Creed. She will report to Raffaella Cornaggia, CEO of Kering Beauté, and become a member of the company’s executive committee based in London. Berger Duquene has more than 25 years of experience in the beauty industry and fragrance brand-building at LVMH and L’Oréal.The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) names Brian Franz as the company's first Chief Technology, Data, and Analytics Officer. Franz joins ELC from State Street, where he was Executive Vice President, Global Chief Information Officer, and Head of Enterprise Resiliency. Previously, he held roles at Diageo and PepsiCo International.Supergoop! founder Holly Thaggard stepped down from her role as Chairwoman but will remain a strategic investor in the business and continue to support Supergoop! as an investor, adviser, and lifelong advocate for its mission. She founded the brand in 2005 and sold a majority stake to Blackstone in 2021.
